Pipe Major Bernard Bouhadana

Led by Pipe Major Bernard Bouhadana, the Pipes and Drums of Prince George Memorial excel at military tattoos, parades, shows, and major events. Bernard Bouhadana is probably the most successful and experienced piper on mainland Europe. He is a Grade 1 World Champion (the highest grade) and has won solo prizes at the Northern Meeting, Argyllshire Gathering, London, and professional grade contests in the US and Canada. His pipe band CV is so unique it might only be matched by a few people in the world: he is a former front-rank piper with Simon Fraser University, Field Marshal Montgomery, St. Laurence O’Toole, and Shotts & Dykehead Pipe Bands.
Bernard has taught piping worldwide for years and has judged numerous band and solo competitions across Europe and Scotland.
As a leader and Pipe Major, he has attracted pipers and drummers from all over the world to join his bands. Players from most European countries, Scotland, Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia, and South Africa have made the journey to Denmark to perform under the leadership of Bernard. In recent years, Bernard has increasingly focused on the need to create a high-level performance band, whose main focus would not be competitions but rather the ability to perform at international parades and tattoos. With a group of local players, he established the Pipes and Drums of Prince George Memorial, with the unique character: the mix of only handpicked high-level players and the focus on appearance with full Highland dress uniforms. This includes wearing the impressive feather bonnets. The band wears Royal Stewart tartan to honor Prince George (Prins Jørgen) and Princess Anne.
